When I was about 6 or 7 years...Best christmas ever? When I was about 6 or 7 years old my dad was getting transferred with the US Navy. He had to go to the new station early and find a place for us to live. He wasn't going to be home for Christmas. That year we celebrated Christmas in September so that my dad could be there, too. He gave me a transistor radio that I was allowed to listen to for a few minutes in bed every night before I went to sleep. That was a big privilege for me. Now 50+ years later, I still have that little radio. It doesn't work, but I have it.
